Developing Human Rights at Sea

International Human Rights Law (IHRL) is a recent addition to the general body of international law. Despite significance 1948 Universal Declaration Rights, law based upon it did not achieve meaningful substance until conventional dealing with had entered into force and conditions allowed for customary acceptance rules contained. The 1970s were an important period in IHRL narrative. two covenants from 1966 1976, Amnesty received Nobel Peace Prize 1977 Watch was founded (as Helsinki Watch) following year. These non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have since been principal civil society monitoring advocacy bodies advancing cause globally they contributed significantly growing influence onwards.
